| Description: | Portuguese Man-O-War and Jelly Boy were once a superhero duo in Deertown-Hobbleville, but that soon changed thanks to an encounter with the Chainsaw Vigilante. They were the first to be defeated by the CSV after his defeat at the hands of The Tick. When Man-O-War's ex-wife found out about their crimefighting, she sued for sole custody of Jelly Boy, and won (Man-O-War showed up at the custody hearing in full superhero garb). He eventually became so depressed that he checked himself into the Evanston Clinic for treatment, which was going well until the clinic was destroyed. Soon after, he joined Mighty Agrippa, Tick, and Arthur in searching for Barry, who had escaped from the custody of the Tri-State Superhero Congress. They eventually got caught up in the battle for the reconstructed Thorn of Oblivion. After the battle, when the new supergroup was being formed, Tick offered Man-O-War a chance to join. Since he had nothing to return to back home, he decided to stay and join. For a while, Man-O-War was still very depressed, to the point that nobody wanted to listen to him speak. When the superogroup was on a cruise, he met Fishboy, at first mistaking him for Jelly Boy. Later, he asked Fishboy to be his new sidekick, but Fishboy refused on the grounds that he's a "Boy-Hero", not a sidekick. During the cruise, he met Merwoman, another water-themed superhero. The two immediately hit it off, and before too long Man-O-War was already thinking about marrying her. |
